UNIX Solutions & Installation Engineer St Albans (Near London)
One of the UK`s market leaders in its field are looking for a candidate to move into the role of UNIX Solution Engineer. This exciting opportunity calls for individuals with excellent UNIX experience in a technical services environment handling installations with a focus on applications software. The Solution Engineer is primarily responsible for: Implementing software installations for customer projects of result of support issues. The role is highly varied as all systems vary. The Solutions Engineer will also work closely with Project Managers to schedule installations and resolving issues with the customers. All the while the candidate must maintaining a high level of customer support while liaising with the Customer Care team. Expertise in Unix is essential; system configuration, administration and scripting as well as HTTP, Apache, RDBMS Databases and server, network and storage architectures. Knowledge of J2E, XML and XSLT are also desirable, however training both formally and on the job are provided where necessary. Successful candidates must be a team player with the ability to work in a high pressure environment. A drivers licence is also essential as the job may require some travel. Solutions Engineers also enjoy a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
